The Turtle Oracle · Kindred Soul Charts was created one week after I lost Turtle Bear my 230-pound black brindle English Mastiff. Turtle was my Multiple Sclerosis service animal, my anchor, the steadiest soul I have ever known. He stayed for nearly 12 years. He outlived his breed by four of them. Through losing Trent, my Tervuren. Through losing my mother Misha. Through every dark night that needed holding.

In the raw middle of that grief, this work arrived — the need to understand not just who he was, but why he chose me. What the stars were doing the day he came. What every lean of that massive body against my legs actually meant.
